Even worse

CT Scan results and hospital admission

After discovering that I have cancer on January 30, 2025, I was admitted to the hospital to manage abdominal pain, address the intestinal obstruction, and begin a series of tests, including a full CT scan.

The CT scan reveals that the situation is even worse. The primary colon cancer has indeed spread to distant organs, including the liver, lymph nodes, lungs, and brain.

GAME OVER

The report concludes:

CONCLUSION: Stage IV sigmoid neoplasia with liver, lung, and brain metastases. Primary tumor with loss of wall structure at the mesenteric border, with probable local implants.

Hospital stay

After this second psychological blow, I remain hospitalized as they attempt to resolve the immediate issue of intestinal obstruction. A conservative treatment is attempted by placing a stent via colonoscopy, which fortunately evolves well. Intestinal transit resumes, and I gradually start eating normally again.

First Cycle of Chemotherapy

Between February 10 and 12, having overcome the intestinal obstruction episode and taking advantage of my hospitalization, I receive the first cycle of chemotherapy with the Folfox regimen, which I tolerate well.

On February 13, I am discharged. For the next 3 to 4 days, I feel completely drained of energy. Gradually, I begin to recover and can eat normally again.
